Kanye West: Being a Sex Addict Fueled Success
Kanye West is on another magazine cover and as usual the rapper turned
auto-tune singer turned fashion designer is full of Kanye-isms. To name a
few: "Put this in the magazine: There's nothing more to be said about music.
I'm the f--king end-all, be-all of music.” "Oh my God, I'm one of the
greatest rappers in the world. I'll get on a track and completely ee-nihilate
that track, I'll eat it and rip it in half. I wouldn't have to think of
it.” "I have, like, nuclear power, like a superhero, like Cyclops when he
puts his glasses on." What other new tales of grandeur might Kanye have added
to his repertoire? Just that a sexual addiction at a young age has somehow
fueled his drive for greatness... "People ask me a lot about my drive," he
says. "I think it comes from, like, having a sexual addiction at a really
young age. Look at the drive that people have to get sex—to dress like this
and get a haircut and be in the club in the freezing cold at 3 a.m., the
places they go to pick up a girl. If you can focus the energy into something
valuable, put that into work ethic..." That actually sounds more like normal
behavior than a full-blown sexual addiction, but if Kanye says he was a sex
addict then he was probably the greatest addict to have ever been addicted to
sex in the history of sexual studies. He also notes that he was a highly
advanced computer programmer of sexual addiction and produced his first Super
Mario Bros.: The Penis Remix in the seventh grade: "My game was very sexual.
The main character was, like, a giant penis. It was like Mario Brothers, but
the ghosts were, like, vaginas. Mind you, I'm 12 years old, and this is stuff
30-year-olds are programming. You'd have to draw in and program every little
step—it literally took me all night to do a step, 'cause the penis, y'know,
had little feet and eyes." Cute, right? However, it should be noted that
Kanye is over music and penis games as he's now turning his great sexual
addiction nuclear energy exclusively to fashion. He plans on moving to Paris
and being mentored by his fashion idol Marc Jacobs. In fact, Yeezy is so into
M.J., he intentionally left the designer's number on the table for his
Details interviewer to see.
Skinnier Lindsay Lohan: I Eat As Much As Always
The buzz surrounding Jessica Simpson's size may be subsiding, but now it
seems Lindsay Lohan has become one of the latest objects of scrutiny in the
never-ending "damned if you gain, damned if you lose" media game. Blogs have
been buzzing about Linds' skinnier-than-usual frame while attending designer
Matthew Williamson's New York store opening on Sunday, but the actress tells
Us the weight loss is "not intentional" and attributes the drop to "working a
lot," "stress" and "lack of sleep" due to travel. "I eat," she insists. "I
had my Big Mac yesterday from McDonald's. I eat just as much as I always
have."
Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Aniston Share Oscar Spotlight
While Slumdog Millionaire piled up the Oscars Sunday night, Angelina Jolie
and Jennifer Aniston defied expectations and piled on the smiles – as their
dual appearance at Hollywood's night of nights was as smooth as the silk
gowns that filled the Kodak Theater. Jolie, of course, attended with her
partner and fellow nominee, Brad Pitt, while his ex-wife, Aniston, was
accompanied by her boyfriend, John Mayer. Pitt and Jolie told PEOPLE that
their six kids were home "throwing spaghetti against the wall," while the two
of them were enjoying a date night. For their part, Mayer chatted with fellow
audience member Queen Latifah, while Aniston schmoozed with Diane Lane, who
was accompanying her husband, Milk Supporting Actor nominee Josh Brolin. When
it came to the seating arrangements in the Kodak, Mayer and Mayer were not
far from Pitt and Jolie – just about 12 seats away. For weeks leading up to
the Oscars, it was rumored that Aniston would be a presenter at the show,
though no official confirmation was released by the Academy. In the end, the
Marley & Me star, along with Jack Black, presented the Animation awards.
During Aniston's time onstage, cameras panned to Jolie as she laughed while
Aniston and Black joked together as they playfully announced the nominees and
winners in several categories. Later, both Aniston and Mayer clapped while
Nicole Kidman introduced Jolie as one of the Best Actress nominees and while
Pitt was announced as one of the Best Actor nominees.
Kevin Federline won’t pay $500 for toddler jeans
Why is Kevin Federline breaking into the children clothing business? In part
because he’s tired of paying for overpriced jeans for his kids Jayden, age
2, and Preston 3. Women Wear Daily reports that Federline dropped by the
Project Trade show in Las Vegas Feb. 24 to research kids' clothing styles in
the hopes of starting his own line. “It’s a really tough business, I’m
trying to take it seriously and make a quality product for kids but not have
parents pay like $500 or something ridiculous for a pair of jeans,”
Federline told WWD. “You buy your kids a pair of True Religions, then they
roll around in the dirt like kids do and a $200 pair of jeans is gone. With
this economy, I’m looking to do something much more reasonable.”
Why did Usher back down on Brown criticism?
As brutal details emerged in the Chris Brown-Rihanna assault case, observers
were left to wonder why some celebrities who spoke out against Brown’s
behavior later softened their stances. xhibit 1-A is Usher, who chastised
Brown for not showing remorse and instead going water-skiing in Miami over
the weekend. But then Usher soft-pedaled, issuing a March 3 statement saying,
"The comments made during a recent recording session amongst friends were
taken out of context and blown out of proportion. I apologize on behalf of
myself and my friends if anyone was offended. The intentions were not to pass
judgment and we meant no harm. I respect and wish the best for all parties
involved." What? The state of California has an issue with Brown’s behavior
but Usher doesn’t? Not necessarily. According to a friend of Rihanna’s,
the apology is meant as a sign of support for her, not Brown. “Everybody
loves Rihanna," the friend said. "They don’t necessarily want her with
Chris, but the second it was clear she was back with him, all of her friends
rallied around her, stopped saying bad things about Chris. It might be what
they’re thinking, but more than anything she needs support. And that’s
what she’ll get.”
Uma Thurman Married? We Got the Answer
Uma Thurman is was a big tease. The Kill Bill babe was rumored to have
married Arpad Busson in the Bahamas over the weekend, and, with the actress'
camp mum, eagle-eyed reporters and photographers attempted to scope out her
left hand and draw a conclusion. She stumped them by wearing bright baubles
that were neither a wedding band nor the 8-carat engagement stunner she was
reportedly given when Busson proposed last June. They can relax now. "Uma did
not get married," Thurman's rep, Stephen Huvane, tells E! News. Instead of
the big diamond, the star wore a topaz piece to an event for Cookie magazine
Monday, and a shiny gold accoutrement to a press conference for the Tribeca
Film Festival earlier today. At the fest's kickoff, the question-and-answer
period was kept brief and, sadly, on topic. The actress did announce the
jurors for the various competitive categories, many sparkling celebs among
them, including herself, James Franco, Bradley Cooper, Meg Ryan, Mary-Kate
Olsen and Debra Messing. People kicked off the buzz about a Thurman-Busson
union on the island of Eleuthura on Saturday, claiming the couple had
obtained a marriage license and were prepared to swap vows. When they
eventually do wed, this will be the third marriage for Thurman, following her
divorces from Gary Oldman and Ethan Hawke.
Jennifer Hudson Sidelined by Throat Condition
Jennifer Hudson is taking a break this week from her national tour with Robin
Thicke. Doctors are said to be treating her for a throat condition related to
her singing. Last night's stop in Oakland, Calif., was postponed until May
19. This week's concerts in Dallas and Houston have also been rescheduled for
later dates, according to Thicke's rep. Hudson last performed on Saturday at
L.A.'s Nokia Theatre. I was there, and she proved to be a real superstar
because she didn't show any signs that something may have been wrong. So just
how well did Ms. Hudson do? Throughout her hour-long set, she was hitting all
of those very high and very powerful notes that she's become so famous for.
Her best numbers were "You Pulled Me Through" and "If This Isn't Love." No
surprise, but her one encore was "And I Am Telling You (I'm Not Going)" from
Dreamgirls. Thicke started the night off with a set that left his fans
swooning, screaming and very hot and bothered. The man can move. More than
once, he dropped to his knees to gyrate while serenading several lucky women
in the front row. Among the notables in the audience were Dreamgirls director
Bill Condon and producer Larry Mark and Gina Prince-Bythewood, who directed
her in last year's The Secret Life of Bees. Chaka Khan popped onstage to join
Hudson for her cover of "Sweet Thing." Now, what about that rumored
pregnancy? Ms. Hudson made no mention of expecting—or not expecting, for
that matter—her first child with fiancé David Otunga. However, her
all-black ensemble was unable to hide what appeared to be a baby bump. Sounds
like the spotlight may be back on.
Natalie Portman Denies Sean Penn Romance
The 27-year-old actress Natalie Portman is firmly denying rumors that she and
reigning Best Actor Sean Penn are an item. "Sean Penn is a friend and
colleague," the star of the upcoming New York, I Love You said in a statement
to Extra Friday. "The reports that we are romantically involved are
completely untrue. I normally do not respond to rumors about my private life,
however, this repeatedly fabricated story has forced me to do so." And the
rumors have been out there—a tabloid report that the May-December duo were
canoodling in a West Hollywood bar barely two weeks after Penn, 48, filed for
a legal separation from his wife of 13 years, Robin Wright Penn,
metamorphosed into full-fledged "they're together" stories. We know that Penn
and Portman served on the 2008 Cannes Film Festival jury together, but
otherwise...only anonymous sources are claiming to know anything else.
Portman split up with folk-rock singer Devendra Banhart last fall.
Patrick Swayze's Rep Denies Death Rumors
Don't believe the rumors: Patrick Swayze is "alive and well." The Internet
exploded this morning with rumors that the Dirty Dancing star had lost his
public battle with pancreatic cancer, but the actor's rep has quickly
corrected the record. "This is to confirm that Patrick Swayze did not pass
away this morning, contrary to severely reckless reports stemming from a
radio station in Jacksonville, Fla.," his publicist, Annett Wolf, says in a
statement to E! News. "Patrick is alive, well and is enjoying his life, and
he continues to respond to treatment." The 56-year-old Beast star has been
dogged by rumors of failing health since he made public his diagnosis last
year. The latest rumor came this morning, when his premature death was
reportedly announced on air during a radio news segment on KISS FM. Adding to
the confusion of the report is the fact that two Jacksonville-area radio
stations bear those call letters, though neither is eager to take credit for
the report. The programming director for 99.9 WKIS FM, however, has already
spoken out denying that the rumor originated on his airwaves. As for Swayze,
the actor is still waiting on another verdict—that of his A&E show. The
Beast did not appear on the cable net's programming lineup when A&E unveiled
its fall schedule last week, but a rep for the network said that a final
decision about the show's future has yet to be made.
Sean Penn, Robin Wright Penn Making Nice Again
Sean Penn's differences with Robin Wright Penn apparently aren't so
irreconcilable. Yet again. For the second time in the past two years, the
Oscar-winning actor and his missus are attempting to patch up their rocky
relationship. The 48-year-old Milk man dispatched his lawyers to California's
Marin County Superior Court this week to retract his request for legal
separation, which he originally filed April 24. "I can confirm papers for
legal separation have been dismissed and there are no papers in the court
system any longer,” Penn publicist Mara Buxbaum tells E! News. "It was an
arrogant mistake," Penn, who's in New York shooting the political drama Fair
Game, told the New York Daily News. There was no immediate comment from
Wright Penn, 43, who is a juror at the Cannes Film Festival. The Penns met in
1990 and tied the knot in 1996. It was Wright Penn who initially decided to
deep six their union, filing for divorce in December 2007, citing
irreconcilable differences. But by April 2008, the duo had the divorce
dismissed. The reconciliation didn't stick, however, and last month it was
Penn's turn to go to court. He requested legal separation and joint custody
of their two children. Just last week, Natalie Portman issued a statement
refuting rumors that she and Penn were romantically involved.
"Idol" runner-up Adam Lambert: "I'm gay"
"American Idol" runner-up Adam Lambert has told Rolling Stone magazine he is
gay, answering a question that followed the singer for months since he gained
millions of fans on the No. 1 U.S. TV talent show. "I don't think it should
be a surprise for anyone to hear that I'm gay," Lambert told the music
magazine in excerpts from an interview that were released on Tuesday. "I'm
proud of my sexuality," he said. "I embrace it. It's just another part of
me." The issue with Lambert on the cover hits newsstands this Friday, with
the full interview inside. During his "American Idol" run Lambert was known
for his falsetto singing, outlandish costumes, eyeliner and fingernail
polish. He was nicknamed "Glambert" and Entertainment Weekly magazine called
him "the most exciting 'American Idol' contestant in years." When he lost in
May's finale to the more buttoned-down Kris Allen, some fan websites and the
media buzzed with speculation that being gay cost him votes from viewers who
pick a winner. Lambert, who was widely considered the front-runner going into
the finale, had never publicly said he was gay. In March, when photos
appeared on the Internet of him kissing another man and dressed in drag, he
said only: "I have nothing to hide. I am who I am." His sexuality became an
issue widely covered in the media because "Idol," seen by an average of about
26 million viewers a week in 2009, had never crowned an openly gay winner.
The runner-up in 2003, Clay Aiken, hid his sexuality for years after his run
on the show, coming out as gay in 2008. The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against
Defamation, a group that advocates for homosexual rights, said it hopes
Lambert's "decision to live openly and honestly inspires gay people and opens
the hearts and minds of his fans." Lambert, 27, grew up in San Diego,
California, and starred in musical theater before trying out for "Idol" last
year. In the Rolling Stone interview, he said he had a "psychedelic
experience" at an annual festival held in the Nevada desert called Burning
Man, and that experience convinced him to try out for "American Idol." "I
realized that we all have our own power, and that whatever I wanted to do, I
had to make happen," Lambert told Rolling Stone. Lambert also revealed a
crush on Allen, who was his roommate for much of the two singers' run on
"American Idol." "He's the one guy that I found attractive in the whole group
on the show: nice, nonchalant, pretty and totally my type -- except that he
has a wife," Lambert joked.
Ex-Wife Reveals David Carradine's 'Kinky' Habits
As David Carradine's family and friends try to make sense of his death, more
details about the actor's bondage and sexual fetishes are coming out. In an
interview with RadarOnline.com, Gail Jensen, Carradine's third ex-wife, said
he enjoyed tying himself up in the bedroom of their California ranch and
experimented with drowning himself in their pool. "He had his kinky moments,"
said Jensen, who was married to Carradine from 1986 to 1997. She added that
the late actor saw the sex acts as a form of meditation and stress release.
In a separate interview, Jensen revealed that Carradine "would tie himself
up, and I would walk in and see him and say, 'Oh, my God, David, you've got
to be kidding me.'" She added, "He liked to be tied up. And he could tie
himself up ... He spent days planning a different feature. He would go to a
hardware store and buy the stuff." Jensen's sentiment was echoed by the late
actor's fourth and most recent ex-wife. Shocked to hear about the nude death
photos that were published of Carradine over the weekend, Marina Anderson
said her four-year marriage to the actor was a "roller coaster." Anderson,
the actress and artist who has been credited with resuscitating Carradine's
film career, is writing a book about her turbulent relationship with the
actor, who was found hanged in Thailand last week. "The dynamics were pretty
heavy," she told ABCNews.com. "I don't want to get into it or I will get
emotional."
It's Not Complicated: Denise Richards' Boob Jobs
Denise Richards has no problem talking about her boob jobs – she's had
three, by the way – just no one's bothered to ask. That is, until Richards
appeared on Howard Stern's R-rated Sirius radio show Thursday, and the shock
jock demanded to know if her breasts were real. "Um, natural on outside, on
the inside they are not," the "Wild Things" actress and Charlie Sheen's ex
told him. By Friday, Richards, who's an open book on her reality show "It's
Complicated," which kicks off its second season on Sunday, was wondering what
was the big deal? "I was kind of surprised," she told ABCNews.com about the
way her response went viral. "A lot of people have had it (breast surgery)."
Miley Cyrus new photo scandal: real or fake?
Just when we thought Miley Cyrus was starting to steer clear of her “bad
girl” image, new photos allegedly showing the pop princess engaged in a
sexual activity have hit the Internet. "The alleged photo of Miley Cyrus
circulating the internet is completely fabricated," the singer's rep tells
the Daily News. While Cyrus, 16, has been busy working on her new movie,
“The Last Song,” in Georgia, fans are left wondering if the "Hannah
Montana" star is as innocent as she wants people to believe. It is unknown
whether the images of Cyrus are authentic, but this wouldn’t be the first
time the teen has been involved in a photo scandal. In 2008, parents were
outraged when the then 15-year-old singer posed semi-topless for the cover of
Vanity Fair. The singer continued to raise eyebrows when her cell phone was
hacked and leaked pictures showed Cyrus provocatively posing in bikinis and a
wet bathing suit. As for the teen star’s latest photo scandal, several
websites have debunked the authenticity of the photos by proving how an
original image could have been altered.
Does Katie Holmes Think She Can Dance?
Is Katie Holmes taking the stage on So You Think You Can Dance? Reps for the
FOX show will neither confirm nor deny that Holmes will strut her stuff this
season in a Broadway number choreographed by SYTYCD judge Tyce Diorio, who is
known for his colorful and difficult numbers. But one thing is for sure:
Holmes has met with the show’s executive producer Nigel Lythgoe on more
than one occasion. “They had a couple meetings,” Lythgoe’s rep tells
PEOPLE. “He meets with people all the time.” The rep also notes that
Holmes uses the facilities at the CBS studios where the show is taped to
rehearse when she’s in town. “She’s on Broadway,” the rep adds, “so
she dances.” Holmes, who appeared in the Broadway revival of Arthur
Miller’s All My Sons, was recently photographed at the studios in Los
Angeles, clad in dance gear. Her husband Tom Cruise and their daughter Suri,
3, were also recently spotted at the studios.
Ryan Reynolds To Star In ‘Green Lantern’ Movie
It appears that Ryan Reynolds has landed the lead role in the live-action
“Green Lantern” movie. After a flurry of rumors, speculation and
announcements over the last 24 hours regarding who would star in the film,
the “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” actor was named as the star of the Martin
Campbell-directed film this evening. Earlier this morning, it was announced
that Reynolds was one of three official contenders for the role alongside
“The Hangover” star Bradley Cooper and musician/actor Justin Timberlake.
According to Variety, “the momentum built for Reynolds in the last week, as
he was the only actor whose option was extended.” Reynolds is now set to
have the lead role in two heavily anticipated movies based on comic book
properties, as it was announced back in May that his portrayal of Marvel
Comics’ “Merc With A Mouth,” Deadpool, had earned him (and the
character) a solo film. Both Deadpool and Green Lantern are currently
regarded as blockbuster movie properties for 20th Century Fox and Warner
Bros, respectively, and there’s no word on how the “Green Lantern” news
will affect “Deadpool.” Budgets for “Green Lantern” and
“Deadpool” haven’t been announced at this point, but “Green
Lantern” is expected to start filming in January. Both films are expected
to open in 2011, so the competing nature of the projects should create an
interesting environment as production gets underway. Little is known about
the plot of “Green Lantern” (or “Deadpool” for that matter), but the
script was co-written by Greg Berlanti, Michael Green and comics veteran Marc
Guggenheim.
Megan Fox Is Over Angelina Jolie Comparisons
Megan Fox is sick of being compared to Angelina Jolie, one of the most
gorgeous women in Hollywood, just because they happen to share a few common
traits.
"I think it's cause she has tattoos really, I think [the comparisons show] a
lack of creativity on the media's part," the Transformers vixen tells Fox
News. "I am a brunette with tattoos, I curse and I have made mention of sex
before. I joked about it which people find outrageous so they want to
constantly compare that to her. You know Shia [LaBeouf] is the new Tom Hanks,
Rihanna is the new Beyonce. Everybody is the new somebody although none of us
are any of those people so you just walk around with it you live with it."
Megan isn't the only one who has a problem with the comparison. Jolie's
father, Jon Voight, put in his two cents about the issue. "Megan is herself
and Angelina is herself. No one is comparable; everyone in the world is
unique," Voight proclaimed at the Transformers premiere in Los Angeles.
"That’s the great thing about it, but of course they’re two very
beautiful women." Good thing Megan has a role as a zombie in the thriller
Jennifer's Body to shake off that sexy image.
Bradley Cooper Denies D.C. Hookup with Jennifer Aniston
It made for a romantic image: Jennifer Aniston meeting with Bradley Cooper
for a Washington D.C. rendezvous as a follow-up to their "just friends" New
York dinner in June in New York.
"It didn't happen, they were not there together," says a rep for Cooper, 34,
throwing cold water on the Capitol hookup reports that have circulated
online. "Bradley was there on a stop-over from his USO tour." Cooper isn't
the only one busy denying a romance with Aniston, 40. Her costar in The
Bounty, Gerard Butler, 39, recently blasted such rumors, calling them "just
annoying."
Hudgens In New Nude Snaps Scandal
Lawyers acting on behalf of "High School Musical" star Vanessa Hudgens are
battling to remove a series of pictures from the Internet which allegedly
showing the actress posing nude, because they were reportedly taken when she
was underage.
Gossip Web sites were sent into a frenzy on Wednesday, when pictures
appearing to show Hudgens naked leaked online. It was unclear whether the
blurry shots were of Hudgens, but celebrity blogger Perez Hilton claims they
are. Hilton alleges lawyers for Hudgens, 20, contacted him and asked him to
remove the snaps from his site because the star was underage when they were
taken. This isn't the first time Hudgens has found herself at the center of a
naked photo scandal. In 2007, pictures taken of Hudgens posing provocatively
both nude and in lingerie appeared online, forcing the Disney star to issue a
public apology.
Britney wants to promote manager to husband
Things seem to be serious between Britney Spears and her manager-boyfriend
Jason Trawick. Just one week after the pop star’s ex-husband, Kevin
Federline, gave the couple his official “I think it’s
great” blessing, the National Enquirer reports that Spears is ready to
take a break from her life on the road and take her relationship with Trawick
to the next level.
Britney says "she wants a man who loves her, who loves having a family, and
who goes to work while she stays at home and cares for the children", a
source revealed. Oh, and speaking of children, 3-year-old Sean Preston and
2-year-old Jayden James may not be the only kids Spears has in mind.
“Britney dreams of getting married to Jason and having his baby,” the
insider added. “She would love to finally have a baby girl and be a
stay-at-home mom and not to be on tour.” According to the source, there’s
just one problem with that plan — a big one. Mr. Right has a history of not
making his way down the aisle. “(Jason’s) last long-term relationship
ended because he wouldn’t pop the question,” the source said.
