It is an American basic cable and satellite television network; it features entertainment-related programming, reality television, feature films and occasionally series and specials unrelated to the entertainment industry.

It becomes the top entertainment channel that providing the latest daily news and celebrity inside information in a fun, irreverent tone. E! presents up-to-the-minute entertainment news, original features, gossip, music and movie reviews, live-event coverage.

The network launched on July31, 1978 as Movietime, a service that aired movie trailers, entertainment news, event and awards coverage, and interviews as an early example of a national barker channel.

In June 1990, Movietime was renamed E! Entertainment Television: to emphasize its widening coverage of the celebrity-industrial complex, contemporary film, television and music daily Hollywood gossip, and fashion.
