It was lunched on 1st May.1994 who was replaced BBC World. At that time, it screened both Hong Kong English and Hong Kong Cantones movies and catered to a pan-Asian audience split into two stations:
Star Movies: is the english movie channel and Star Chines Movies: is the hong kong cantonese & Mandarin(taiwan & SE Asia) Movie channel.
