The '300' star has been charged with a misdemeanor.

ET confirms that Gerard Butler has been charged with misdemeanor battery following an alleged 2008 run-in with a photographer.

Officials tell ET that the alleged incident occurred in October of 2008.

Butler will be arraigned on June 10.
