The "61st Primetime Emmy® Awards" is moving ahead a week!

CBS has moved the broadcast of this year's Emmy Awards from Sunday, Sept. 20 to Sunday, Sept. 13 to accommodate its NFL coverage.

"The new date moves the Emmys away from a weekend where CBS has an NFL doubleheader, which can delay the start of primetime on Sunday," said Jack Sussman, Executive Vice President, Specials, Music and Live Events, CBS. "This is better for the live event, the broadcast and our audience at home."

The nominations for this year's Emmy broadcast will be announced July 16 at 5:40 a.m. PDT/8:40 a.m. EDT.
