Russo Joins Hemsworth and Hopkins in 'Thor' 2009-12-18

Rene Russo has signed on to play Thor's mom in Kenneth Branagh's movie adaptation of the Marvel comic book story.

Russo will portray Frigga opposite Chris Hemsworth, as Thor, and Anthony Hopkins, who will portray her husband Odin.

Natalie Portman is also part of the all-star cast.

The film begins shooting in January.
