Slumdog still reaps Oscar success2009-03-03
Slumdog Millionaire has moved back to the top of the UK box office after its success at the Oscars.
It jumped from number three to the number one spot after picking up eight awards in Hollywood last month.
Last week's chart-topper, animated feature, Bolt, dropped down to number four with Clint Eastwood's racial drama Gran Torino in second place.
The third spot was claimed by a new entry, horror film The Unborn, which made just over £1.3m.
The next highest entry was The International at number six.
The thriller, set in the world of industrial espionage, and starring Clive Owen and Naomi Watts made £760,000 in its first week of release.
Renee Zellweger comedy New In Town scraped into the top ten with earnings of £439,000, despite being roundly dismissed by film critics.
