It's a 'Bittersweet' Time For Fantasia2010-06-21

It has been three years since Fantasia's last album, and now she is about to release her highly anticipated third album, Back to Me, on July 27.

"I love soulful music. I grew up on soulful music, so I wanted to bring that to this video," says Fantasia, who is stylin' a '20s look in keeping with the theme. In the "Bittersweet" video, Fantasia has a big show to do, but she makes the audience wait because she has this man in her life who she can't get off her mind.

"Bittersweet," which is currently No. 9 on the Urban Adult charts, is the first single, in addition to being the first video, from Back to Me. The album features a sole guest appearance by Cee-Lo Green, and songs written and/or produced by Ne-Yo, Claude Kelly, Chuck Harmony, Rico Love, Jim Jonsin, KP and Malay. Also available for the first time as a bonus track is "I'm Here," Fantasia's signature song from her role in the Broadway play The Color Purple.

"Steve Harvey suggested the album title and it describes perfectly where I am in my life right now," Fantasia says. "I've willingly let the world into my life through my book, the Lifetime television movie and now the VH1 reality show. Now, it's time to go back to how things used to be when America first laid their eyes on me on 'American Idol.' I want to focus everyone's attention back to me and back to music that everyone can relate to and enjoy."
