Piers Morgan Announces First Guest: Oprah!2011-01-06
Piers Morgan let the cat out of the bag Thursday -- his first guest when he takes over Larry King's CNN timeslot will be media queen Oprah Winfrey.
"She is one of the two or three biggest gets in the world," Piers said. He shared the news with reporters at the Television Critics Association's Press Tour in California.
Earlier this week, he told ET correspondent Nancy O'Dell, "I'm excited. I think I'm cautiously optimistic about how it's going to go," adding, "In terms of the ability to shape opinion around the world, and to bring the real character of world leaders and big celebrities and politicians and so on, to that kind of audience, it's almost unparalleled. So I find that very exciting."
Piers' new show will debut on January 17 on CNN.
