'True Grit' Lassos Up Top Spot at Box Office2011-01-09

The Coen brothers-directed western 'True Grit' made its way to the top this weekend, pulling in another $15 million and putting the film's domestic total at $110.4 million.
'Crazy Heart' Oscar winner Jeff Bridges steps into John Wayne's boots as alcoholic U.S. Marshal Rooster Cogburn in this gritty take on the 1968 Charles Portis novel, a role that earned Wayne an Academy Award. Matt Damon co-stars as a Texas Ranger who teams up with Cogburn to help a stubborn 14-year-old girl (newcomer Hailee Steinfeld) track down her father's killer.
The comedy sequel 'Meet the Fockers' came in at No. 2 at the box office, grossing $13.8 million, while Nicolas Cage's new movie 'Season of the Witch' pulled in $10.7 million in its opening weekend.
Bridges' other movie 'TRON: Legacy' made an estimated $9.8 million this weekend, and rounding out the top five movies at the box office was Natalie Portman's psychological thriller 'Black Swan,' grossing $8.4 million.
