Justin Bieber's 'Turn to You' and Other Mother's Day Classics2012-05-14

Anyone remotely familiar with the Justin Bieber story knows that his mother, Pattie Mallette, was only 18 years old when she became pregnant with the future king of Canadian pop. Though Bieber's father, Jeremy, was part of his childhood, Justin has always been quick to show appreciation for his mother and the sacrifices she made as a single mom in low-income housing. And now, just in time for Mother's Day, he's released a song about it.
"Turn to You" is a fairly standard song of inspiration with a straightforward narrative that Beliebers will find familiar: "It was '94, the year that everything started the change from before / You had to be a woman, you were forced to change your ways." However clumsy and obvious the lyrics, it's clearly heartfelt and expertly timed. But it's nowhere near the top of our list of songs to play this Mother's Day.
Check out the video below, as well as our picks for songs better suited to honor your mom.
