Saving Sarah Cain2007
When Sarah Cain, a self-involved big-city newspaper columnist, travels to Pennsylvania for the funeral of her Amish sister, she soon discovers that she is the legal guardian of her five Amish nieces and nephews.
Rather than choose to move to Lancaster County to finish raising them there herself, or let them be separated by the foster care system, Sarah decides to take them with her back to Portland where she believes she can make a new life for them.
However, she soon realizes that the modern world has forced them to compromise who they are, and that she has moved them there for all the wrong reasons.
After taking them to Portland, Sarah's Amish nephews and nieces try to fit in within the new society, and struggle to live in the new environment.
Sara starts writing her newspaper columns about her story with the children, which has great approval from her readers, but things go out of hand as the media chases the children everywhere.
Sarah then finds a letter from her late sister Ivy telling her that she wanted her to have the kids, to make it up for her after leaving her alone at the orphanage when they were kids, she tells her in the letter that they would be "blessings to [her] as they were to me."
At the end Sara decides to return to the Amish community with the children to raise them there as her sister wished.
