Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure1989

Ted and Bill are two very dumb high school students who have a dream of starting a rock band called Wyld Stallyns together, but they are on the verge of failing high school and being separated, as Ted's father would send him to military school if he fails.

They find out the world depends on them being together, and a man from the future comes to help them pass history exam and stay together.
They are then taken into different times in history.
Rufus returns to the future leaving the time machine with Ted and Bill, who have the idea of going back in time and kidnapping historical figures for their history exam after discovering that they accidentally brought back Napoleon with them.

After collecting historical figures, Bill and Ted return home in order to pass their history exam, but then they find the chaos they and the action figures have caused, and the figures are arrested.

Bill and Ted manage to set them free and get them to their exam, which turns out to be a great success and they pass.
